Daric Richie dupes PMF and Peter Quennell

Did an Amanda Knox protest happen against a little known blogger? (Read further to find out what on earth I'm talking about!)

There are times following guilters when even I'm surprised.  I sit back and think "They can't really be this stupid can they?".  Thing is, guilters are always one upping themselves on the dumb meter.  This incident is no exception.  The whole situation is so absurd that it's almost difficult to explain.  For a group of cyber-idiots that is always quick to google everything and anything in order to try to substantiate whatever they can, it's surprising they didn't even notice they were and still are being bamboozled by a fame seeking young in'.

So before we get into how PMF was duped, lets talk about who duped them.  A kid who calls himself Daric Richie. Besides Peter Quennell, I don't think I've seen a bigger pathological liar in my life, which is why it's so funny that the two took to each other so fast (more later).

So who is Daric?  Long story short, he's appears to be an internet personality who has been trying to make himself famous in the most desperate way possible:  writing online articles about himself with fake names all over the internet.  A quick google shows what looks like boatloads of articles he's written about himself on as many sites as possible, all with made up names, desperately trying to make himself famous.  Here is the google search in case you're feeling lazy.

Here are articles about him on Zimbio.

He's even made a wiki about himself.

And an urgent press release.

And a blogger profile.

I don't think I'm going out on a limb when I say I think know who wrote all of the above articles.  I dunno, what do YOU think?

I also suggest watching this video called Daric Rawr Exposed! which was done by a woman who figured things out pretty quick.  Also, this video also has some interesting stuff as well. There are also allegations swirling around the internet that he actually made up a fake boyfriend and made up some weird stuff after that.   I'm not touching it with a ten foot pole.   This of course sounds unbelievable at first, until you read more and more about the guy to the point where it does actually sound totally believable.  He's like Peter Quennell's little understudy I guess.

Oh, he also has two books on Amazon.  His Amazon sales rank shows that not a single person has bought his book though.

Anyhoo, the kid comes off as a total online con artist, and it's completely obvious to any rational person....which is why he's so easily duped PMF.

So what does this have to do with the Amanda Knox case?

Great question.  I'm glad you asked.  In order to gain attention, Daric began writing articles about himself and his opinions on the Amanda Knox case using a fake alias.  The articles have been removed by Examiner.com, who caught on pretty quick to what was going on.  (Note to anyone making up fake reporter personas:  If you're going to pretend be a long time journalist, don't  say your fake persona used to write for the Washington post when (a) the Washington Post has no record of articles from that made up person and (b) if the person actually wrote for the Washington Post, they probably would know how to use a semicolon and write semi-literately).

You can't see the examiner articles any more, but they're still in the Google Cache.  Here are some of them and the headlines:

When his fake support of Amanda Knox didn't garer him any attention, he suddenly did a 180 and changed his mind!  The headline read:

The fake article stated: "Daric (16) who was seen leaving his home earlier this morning 'Ran into an outraged group of protestors while reportedly heading to his local library to study for his upcoming life as a college student' says neighbor Lisa Guarani."

Lo and behold, for about the last five days, Mr. Daric has been posting frequently on PMF, and has been admired by all.

Now, most people's BS detector would go off after reading one of these articles, but even as of TODAY, there are PMFers distraught over this blatantly made up story.

One of the posters who calls herself "The Bard" (or as she is often referred to as "stupid even for PMF"), giving us the guilter quote of the day:  ****WARNING:  Do NOT drink anything while reading this****

"This is totally UNACCEPTABLE.  You are a minor.  Your mother should not be upset by this either.  I too am appalled that a child of sixteen is being targeted, going about his business, by supporters of a convicted murder.  Is the FOA in total meltdown?  What kind of publicity is this going to bring them?  Are there factions outside the control of central command and Marriott?  Surely so.  Not intelligent strategist would condone this tactic.

Daric, you are learning first hand -- like Skep -- what it means to be harassed for stating your views, and standing up for the right to express them.  It is a political act on one level.  Well done.  Don't forget: the USA has freedom of speech.  You are doing nothing wrong.  This is how it should be.  But it's tough to be in the firing line.  You're learning more about politics than any University could teach you in a first year.  Stand firm.  Don't be bullied.  Don't be afraid.  Best wishes to your Mother.  I hope she's ok.  She should be very proud of you.  What is happening to you is showing the level of desperation the FOA will resort to.  Their desperation is stunning."

Yes Bard, it truly is stunning.

But there's more from Bard:

"Hang on. Let me get this absolutely straight: You, a sixteen year old boy, are being ambushed and lobbied by a group of Amanda Knox supporters, who have traced where you live? The Friends of Amanda (FOA) are directly targetting a 16 year old kid.  Daric, please confirm. This is totally unacceptable. Doug has sold the story to news outlets???? What's the headline: 16 year old kid reads Massei and concludes it right.com?   Daric, you have no IDEA what you are doing for Meredith, god love you...".

Almost as priceless as the Bard's above quote is how amazingly well Daric got along with likeminded weirdo Peter Quennell.

On the fake protest Daric Richie made out of the air, Peter Quennell wrote the following ****WARNING: do NOT drink anything while reading*****:

"FOA must have a contract with Rentacrowd for instant demos outside peoples homes.  This is getting more Monty Pythonesque by the day.

Pete."

Earlier, Quennell commented on the fake article Richie wrote about himself where the Catholic Church admonished him for his support of Knox:

"Tks Stilicho. I think more interesting than the blogger read in more than 6 countries is is that an Italian Catholic church ("Santa Maria Di Monteluce") seems to be accepting guilt as the verdict.   Santa Maria Di Monteluce is the name of a big church in Perugia and I cant find any others. Anyone? What is the score here?

Pete"

Of course, when Peter Quennell thought Daric was on the other side, he had this to say:

"Its "Bruce Fishers" territory for sure, Daric's high-readership claims are also a joke. His blog is not even in the top 5 million in readers.  For comparison, the website tracker Alexa has PMF and TJMK each in the top 1/2 million and (again) rising fast. Maybe 50X what his readers are.

The guy is a ninny on a trip. Nothing more."

(You'll notice the irony in the level of skepticism Fat Pete exhibits if someone disagrees with him and the discrepancy when they come into his corner).

So was the protest real?  Of course not, nothing Daric Richie says is real.  And its obvious to anyone with half a brain.  Nevertheless, Friends of Amanda has listed an official statement:

FOA STATEMENT RE DARIC RICHIE

It has come to our attention that a recent FOA protest action had the effect of driving Daric Richie and his mother out of their Tacoma residence and into hiding at an undisclosed location.

We wish to emphasize that this action was not authorized by FOA. It was the unfortunate result of a logistical and communication error. Like many large organizations, FOA is beset by control weaknesses between functional silos. A mid-level FOA executive inadvertantly attached the wrong URL to an email authorizing the protest, and our director of field operations failed to confirm the proper location. An action that was intended to target Giuliano Mignini in Perugia, Italy, ended up taking place at a grocery store in Tacoma, Washington.

The error was further compounded by a decision to work with a new subcontractor on this particular project. FOA commands vast financial resources, but cost pressures affect our organization just as they do any other. We sought to economize by working with a small firm whose core business is repossessing automobiles. The culture of this organization is not compatible with our objectives, and we will not be using their services again.

FOA therefore wishes to apologize to Daric Richie and to Mrs. Richie. You may return to your home with the assurance that we will not bother you again. You may also swing by our office parking lot any time during normal business hours, to reclaim your car.

WHAT DO YOU THINK?  IS PMF PLAYING DUMB?  OR ARE THEY JUST THAT DUMB?

  1. Did you forget the transcendentally stupid "SomeAlibi?" He is every bit as dumb as the Bard. The fool was actually giving the fictional Daric legal advice. Of course, it turns out that this character is not even a real lawyer but just a pompous, poorly educated upstart clerk with pretensions.

SomeAlibi, of course, is the self-same dude who ventured to Perugia to commemorate the day of Meredith's passing with plastic flowers, in an act that scandalized Italians and had others wondering about the tackiness of the gesture. When his lack of good sense was hinted at on PMF, this suave faux lawyer dropped a series of F-bombs that would not have been out of place in gangsta rap.

I am not making this up.

  2. This is priceless!

I want to feel sorry for everyone involved in this, but I can't stop laughing long enough! Without reading PMF for the day I opined elsewhere that SB would figure it out soon enough and give him the 'ol 'Thanks for Stopping By!' but I found out reading later she's the one most invested in this ongoing Onionesque satire of their entire pathos! Fiona even fell for it, to the eternal shame of JREF! Like *anyone* would 'protest' some kid blogger because he 'changed his stance' on Amanda Knox.

    :::facepalm:::

I must admire the dark majesty of the achievement, few have been so thoroughly lampooned! He zipped it down, whipped it out, and sprayed them all and they lapped it all up! Just because he said he thought Amanda Knox was guilty and FOA were evil.

Is there *nothing* they won't believe as long as it comes with the tag-line 'Amanda-Did-It?'

Please don't make me laugh this hard. I almost hurt my ribs.

  4. Daric and his 15 minutes of fame are so hot, there's just something about a bad boy! Do you guys know him? Can you introduce me? MY people will contact your people.

  5. Actually, I once got lost in Verona, and wound up in Walla Walla, so I can understand the mix-up.

Amanda and Raffaele are innocent, this has been proven, and they will be acquitted.

    'nuff said!

  6. This is a scream, 'Guilter Talkin'! The caption on PQ's photo was worth the time alone! (Of course, with Peter, if you can't see his hands, you always wonder about his smile.)

I find it admirable that FOA took responsibility for the flash mob. I am concerned, though, as to how Daric and his "mom" are going to get back to the office to claim their car. Have they considered sending the company jet when it returns from Italy?

PMS/TJMK have accepted the self-focused ramblings of an apparently disturbed, pathological liar minor child not old enough to smoke, drink or enter into legal contracts, and tearfully welcomed him, "...God love you!" While at the same time rejecting the studied conclusions of a scientist, five authors, an FBI Agent, a sitting judge, two NETWORK reporters, and a United States Senator. Uhhhh.....(or should I say, Duhhhhhhh.)

Guilter Talkin,' (With apologies to "The Tard") God BLESS you for what you are doing!

  7. These are people who believe a 20-year-old honor student and her millionaire boyfriend of six days picked up a black dude at a ball court and invited him home for a sex game with her roommate who became indignant at the idea so the honor student stabbed the roommate to death.

Such people are not capable of inductive reasoning. They don't know when they're being put on.

That episode was hilarious. What kicked off his meltdown was Peggy passive-aggressively suggesting he write to the Italian newspaper to correct their story and say the flowers were silk, as he claimed they were. Of course he couldn't do that because they were in fact plastic!

  10. What's scariest to me is the fact that those people on PMF can end up on juries. Blond American suspects don't stand a chance! Especially if the prosecutor uses words like "Luciferina" to describe her, or she doesn't speak English like a student of Shakespeare.

Jury consultants must have learned so much reading PMF.

  11. take a look at this picture and see if it looks familiar. This guy is a sociopath and a scammer and is not doing it as a joke but just as part of a pathological need for constant attention.

  12. Thanks for posting that. It is the same person. He has gone under the names Derick Goff, Daric Rawr, and Daric Richie. PMF is embracing him to their own detriment. He is very sick indeed.

  15. Daric seems to have cleaned up his act (and his websites) quite a bit today. He must be receiving some behind-the-scenes counseling from the admins of PMF. Otherwise, they would have to ban him, and how would that look?

    ReplyDelete
  16. I don't understand this. Daric is still posting on PMF, still being congratulated for his 'courage and maturity'.

He clearly hasn't read the Massei Report and hasn't once mentioned any detail of the case. All he talks about is himself. His ludicrous claims of being mobbed by the FOA seem to have been forgotten about, or do some of the slopeheads still believe them? Do they know his bogus articles have been deleted? And do they know Daric Richie isn't his name? I thought they didn't like pen names.

It doesn't seem that allowing this kid to continue hijacking a supposed serious forum with his bullshit can be good for PMF.

  17. Just One Little Kiss on the Cheek!April 22, 2011 at 9:29 AM

It's true Peter Quennell is getting dumber! He posted praise of Daric Richie on True Justice long after it was revealed that he had been duped. Maybe Peter thinks he was being duped when told he was duped!

All I know is that Peter Quennell is a Cutie! That must be why kids (like Daric) love Peter. Kids love Cuties because Cuties (like Peter) love kids!

Come on Pete, I'm young, pretty, blond, and vulnerable, so give me just one kiss on the cheek! Oh won't ya! Just one! You sick bastard!

Even treehorn doesn't believe it, and when treehorn actually gets something right, you know the world has turned upside down.

  21. As "Daric" is now making threats of calling law enforcement and having pro-Knox "pedophiles" who are stalking him arrested,(" I am a MINOR!") I am turning the tables on him - have taken screenshots where he lists his age as 18 and have traced a Darrick Goff to Tacoma who is no minor. It is a legal violation to pose as a minor - for whatever reason - on the internet, and he is being reported. I have also taken a screenshot of his Wikia page which has been edited to reveal that the Examiner has deleted his "exclusive interview". What a sick person, and PMF is encouraging him to "speak with our attorneys". from bad to worse....

  22. Another classic from SomeAlibi.

Next, Candace illustrates her surface level understanding of points and makes a cheap shot at Patrick Lamumba based on that lack of understanding:

"Patrick said that he had fired her, which never made any sense if you think logically because on the night of the murder, that’s how she got in so much trouble: he called her and said ‘don’t come to work tonight’, so the question I would love to ask Patrick is ‘why if she was fired did you have to say that’ and obviously she wasn’t so…"

Now yes, the Daily Mail article was indeed titled "I fired Foxy Knoxy for hitting on customers: Patrick Lumumba reveals why he was framed over Meredith's murder"

    http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article ... z1KRSBaPfY

but of course, Patrick was talking about her bar job and he *continued* to employ Amanda on a two-night a week basis to hand out fliers which is made *entirely* clear in the same article:

"By Tuesday, October 30, his patience ran out. He told Amanda *she could carry on handing out club flyers*, but could no longer work in the bar."

Where do they get these people?

I'm coming to the conclusion that the righteous frothing of these people is because, literally (and I do mean literally), they don't actually know the detail of the case.

It is just beyond me that this is their supposed A-team...

So SomeAlibi is stating that on the night of Nov 1st Amanda was supposed to be handing out fliers for Patrick's bar.

Aren't fliers usually handed out during the day before people decide which bar they are going to that night? And aren't fliers usually handed out at places such as universities? Would it make sense to hand out fliers directly outside the bar advertised by the fliers?

And didn't Patrick's text message state that there weren't many customers in the bar so Amanda didn't need to come to work?

So SomeAlibi is suggesting that Patrick decided that with hardly any customers, it made sense not to attempt to get any more customers by handing out fliers. Not only that, he was also employing Amanda to hand out fliers at night at the actual location advertised by the fliers.

Any chance of a guilter article devoted to SomeAlibi?

  23. Bizarrely SomeAlibi after all his boasting about being willing to debate anywhere with anyone about Steve Moore's presentation, and calling his opponents cowards, seems to have developed a yellow streak himself now that Bruce has volunteered to debate him... Go figure.

  24. Daric is one sick individual... I am the person who did the youtube video's that you posted the link to! Daric went so far in his suicide hoax to create a suicide note with my name in it. Truly disturbing! This demented person does not care who he hurts, so long as he gets the attention he so desperately craves.
